Gate seals provide the watertight interface between a hydraulic gate leaf and its embedded frame or sill. Profiles include hollow-bulb side seals, music-note bottom seals, J-type and double-stem seals, supplied as straight lengths or factory-vulcanised corner sections.
Sealing pressure is generated by the deflection of a hollow bulb or by hydrostatic pressure acting on the seal lip, so leakage decreases as head increases. Low-friction PTFE facings reduce the hoisting force required to overcome seal friction on large gates.
