Replacement elastomeric gland for strip seal expansion joints, available in CR and EPDM for direct retrofit without deck breakout.
The strip seal gland is the wearing element of a strip seal bridge joint, locked into the edge beams by a continuous key. It is the component replaced during maintenance, and can be changed without removing the anchorage or breaking out deck concrete.
The gland is held by a bulb-shaped key that is driven into a matching cavity in the edge beam. Movement is accommodated by the V or U-shaped section folding and unfolding, so the gland never carries traffic load directly and can be renewed independently of the steelwork.
