Modular and strip seal bridge expansion joints accommodating movements from 40 mm to 800 mm, designed to AASHTO and EN 1991-2 traffic loading.
A bridge expansion joint absorbs thermal movement, shrinkage, creep and traffic-induced displacement of the deck while providing a smooth, watertight running surface. We supply strip seal, modular and finger plate systems covering total movement ranges from 40 mm to over 800 mm.
The joint transfers wheel loads into the deck structure through anchorages and support beams, while an elastomeric gland or modular sealing element bridges the gap. Horizontal movement is taken by the gland deforming in shear or by sliding centrodes, so the deck remains free to expand without stressing the substructure.
