Composite waterstop combining a butyl rubber sealing layer with a galvanised steel plate for high hydrostatic head and aggressive ground conditions.
This composite profile bonds a self-adhesive butyl rubber compound to a galvanised steel plate, giving both the sealing reliability of butyl and the dimensional stability of steel. It is specified for dams, reservoirs and deep basements where hydrostatic pressure is high.
The butyl layer cold-flows into concrete surface irregularities to create an immediate seal, while the steel plate resists extrusion under sustained water pressure. Mechanical fixings through the plate ensure the waterstop cannot be displaced during concrete placement.
