High-tensile steel wire mesh and cable net systems for rockfall protection and slope stabilisation on highways and railways.
Slope protection systems range from flexible draped mesh for rockfall containment to actively anchored systems that stabilise the slope face. All use high-tensile steel wire mesh, energy-dissipating brake rings and corrosion-protected anchors.
In flexible systems the mesh and cables intercept falling rock and dissipate its kinetic energy through controlled deformation of the net and the yielding of brake elements, transferring the residual load to anchors. Active systems add a pretensioned net that presses against the slope, preventing detachment in the first place.
